After the end time scenario on his debut album (2004) DOOOM continues to explore the sounds of the human psyche and setting the music to various states of the mind. “Psychonaut” is a voyage through different layers of consciousness. It’s about shadows, traumata, hopes and fears, rebirth and the endless travel of restless souls through the continuum. Even though there is a vast array of accompanying sounds and noises, the core is defined by nothing else than DOOOM.

After having released four EPs on various netlabels so far, Psonikadia now presents his debut release for [mescalinum music research]. Simply titled “Fifth”, the EP is a little gem of six ambient electronic mindscapes created in a four days session. Psonikadia is the current musical expression from Nick Aitchison. Previous incarnations being Varja and Qb. Philosophically Psonikadia has developed out of the void, meaning the music is not pre-conceived. It appears from mind. And is then...

Billy San comes from Israel and presents a varied mixture of experimental ambience. Field recordings, white noise speech patterns, fragile melodies merge into a body of frequencies, which make no distinction between man-made noises and extra-terrestrial signals.

The second album "The Journey" carries on where "Leaving the old world behind" left off. With the first album being some kind of a search for the “right” sound, "The Journey" leads to the direction MARTYR DROID always wanted to go. The idea was to create a sinister and oppressive album while not being overladen. “With simple methods to the destination” – This strategy should have succeeded. The main topic of MARTYR DROID’s work is atmosphere. Organic...

Experimental subraum ambience, headphones are strongly recommended as usual when it comes to psy-stuff. The EP features two new tracks of psy-esque electronica, the original edit of "Jastreboff's Model" which was only available on the rare limited edition of "Tinnitus" and three outtakes from the Tinnitus sessions.

The soundtrack for the time after the apocalypse – the sound DOOOM have created with "Endtime" comes really close to the silent but still ominous atmosphere of depressing and cold isolation after the big inferno. The listener finds himself in a sound landscape without any hope but still a glimpse of life, both hostile and friendly at the same time. "Endtime" begins with waking up after the apocalypse... you believe to see the sun rising but you also know that there will be...

Although MARTYR DROID's debut album is more a compilation of early tracks it doesn't lack conception. The vision of MARTYR DROID is a cold mechanical world inhabited by droids, and the music is the perfect score. MARTYR DROID's work can be described as industrial, electro and dark ambient sounds. Influences are the works of Mick Harris and Godflesh. The album features two bowiesque vocal performances by the remarkable and respected underground artist Mark Moffre.

"Tinnitus" is a very experimental recording of electronic music, ranging from psychological ambience to disturbing noise. Headphones are strongly recommended while listening to this record. The Psy about "Tinnitus": "The recording shall give an impression of what I am hearing and what I am believing to 'hear'. In 1998 I got tinnitus which is a serious illness, and since then my life has changed a lot - maybe more than I have recognized for myself. Tinnitus is a well...

"Black Area" mainly serves as a metaphor for Africa, often called the 'black continent'. The music is tribal-like, rhyhthm-oriented and combines a great variety of styles, including big beat electronica and ambient. Enjoy your trip, you won't regret it!

First released September, 2003 on CDR. x909 is probably the most extreme act on the [mescalinum music research] scientist roster. His music can be described as dark industrial ambient/noise - x909 himself calls it 'soundicide'. "This is how war crimes sound like" is the perfect characterization of the album which is heavily influenced by humanity's bloody urge for self destruction. The two tracks are only a glimpse of the dark world humans can enter when being in the state of war.
